After a two-month wait, Ghanaian athletes who excelled at the recent African Games have finally received their promised bonuses according to reports reaching Happy Sports.
Ghana had a stellar performance, bringing home an impressive 50 medals in total: 11 gold, 23 silver, and 16 bronze, Ghana’s highest ever in the competition.
As announced earlier, gold medalists were awarded $3,000 each, silver medalists received $2,000, and bronze medalists got $1,000. This means a total sum of $95,000 has been disbursed to the athletes.
The news of the bonus payment has been met with gladness by the athletes, who had reportedly been waiting for their rewards since the conclusion of the Games two months ago.
