President of Ghana Athletics, Bawa Fuseini has said that bonuses for athletes at the Olympic Games have not yet been agreed upon.
According to him, the government through the Ministry of Youth and Sports has not informed or confirmed that bonuses would be paid to the athletes neither have they mentioned if there would be prize monies for medals won.
Bawa Fuseini told Ohene Bampoe-Brenya on Happy Sports that the only package confirmed and agreed upon is per diems of athletes and officials.
“In terms of per diems we have been told what we are going to get for both athletes and officials. It will be paid from when we start camping till we finish our events at the Games.”
“ But for bonuses or what they will get for winning a medals we don’t know the monetary allocation for that,” Bawa said on Happy Sports.
