President Akufo-Addo names Annoh-Dompreh as Road Fund Management Board Chairman

Minister of Finance Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam in accordance to Section 28 of the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921) is expected to appear before Parliament and present the Mid-Year Review of the Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the Government for the 2024 Financial Year on Tuesday, 23 July, 2024.

Majority Chief Whip,Frank Annoh-Dompreh who presented the explanatory memorandum on the business statement for the sixth week ending Friday,19 July,2024 on behalf of the majority leader disclosed the approved date for the presentation.

”Mr Speaker the business committee takes the opportunity to give prior notice to honorable members that the Minister for finance is expected to present the mid-year review of the Budget Statement and Economic Policy of Government for the Year 2024 Financial Year on Tuesday ,23 July, in the face of the volume of work,we are expected to have extended sitting”he announced

The Finance Minister Dr Mohammed Amin Adam had engaged banks ahead of the 2024 mid year budget review,of which during the meeting, he said among other things that the Development Bank Ghana is looking to channel close to GHS 1.4 billion through the financial sector for onward lending to viable Small and Medium scale Enterprises (SMEs).

According to Dr. Amin Adam, the government sees SMEs as the driving force behind the country’s economic revitalization and plans to achieve this goal by launching the SME Growth and Opportunity Programme on Tuesday, July 16th.

He has called for support from Commercial Banks and other financial sector players as part of stakeholder engagements on the budget review to promote growth.

Meanwhile,the majority chief whip disclosed that before the presentation of the mid-year budget review, there will be a meeting on Tuesday,16 July,2024.

This is to enable the house, hold discussions with the Administrator of the District Assemblies’ Common Fund and the Minister of State at the Ministry Of Finance to address issues of the common fund.

“Mr. Speaker members are encouraged to avail themselves at the meeting”. he added
