In the sixth week of a widespread strike, the President of the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG), Prince Obeng-Himang has indicated that continuous silence from government will keep the strike going.
In an interview on Happy 98.9FM’s Happy Kasiebor News Bulletin, Mr Obeng-Himang assertively touted the strike as an action that will yield results. “We are confident about this move we have taken.”
He indicated that it is not CETAG’s desire to initiate this strike action but can only hope that all lawful proceedings that back it will yield positive results. “We do not hope to see the strike last for subsequent months but we have undergone all lawful proceedings that permit us to appeal to the government by this strike action.”
“We only hope that the government will consider these facts and meet the requests that we have made.” he concluded.
