The fifth edition of the Play with Stephen Charity Golf Tournament has officially been launched at the CFAO Mercedes-Benz showroom, Accra to solicit the necessary support for Autistic patients through the annual ‘Play with Stephen Charity Golf Tournament’.

The golf tournament is set to bring together golfers, like minded individuals and friends to join forces with Stephen Onaivi from August 23, 2024 to August 25, 2024 at the state-of-the-art Achimota Golf course to raise money for Autism patients and have fun while at it with a golf tournament.

Play with Stephen partners with CFAO Mobility to gather individuals from all around the world to join this cause and make an impact in the lives of Autism patients particularly in Africa.

The net proceeds which are generated from donations are given in equal splits to a number of Autism Centres in Africa such as the Autism Awareness, Care & Training Centre, Ghana; AWAAWA2 Ghana and Shades of Life Centre in Lagos Nigeria.

Founder of Play with Stephen, Stephen Onavi speaking at the press conference to officially outdoor this year’s tournament indicated that there are many families that are burdened with meeting the needs of family members with Autism. He noted that these families struggle to access diagnosis, treatment and management of Autism, touting ‘Play With Stephen’ as an initiative that will help these families and offer them a firm shoulder to lean on.“The Play With Stephen Golf Tournament makes it available for them and sent as an assistance to them. The Play With Stephen Tournament which is also organized to support them covers the training, counseling and other services. Our support ensures that these families have a shoulder to lean on.”

He looked forward to an exciting tournament this year and commended all stakeholders and supporters that have played integral roles in making it possible. “At Play With Stephen our mission is to Swing for Autism to promote awareness and care for people living with Autism at centers that assist them. We also acknowledge the center’s unwavering support and their care for autistic patients.”

The tournament, presents the winner with a Mercedes Benz C180 2024 edition –with terms and conditions duly applied.

Day one of the tournament will start off with a Twilight Golf (2 Hole Tournament) & Welcome party. This is a mix of golf game and welcome party experience and club night at the Achimota Club house. A night to connect and a night to remember.
This is traditionally sponsored by Heineken. Themed “Heineken Night Twilight Golf and Welcome Party”

Day two comes with a club day where players are encouraged to participate in the club’s monthly medal. Players are encouraged to participate in the monthly medal and win prizes and also use this day to ‘test’ the course in preparation for the monthly medal.

Sunday, August 25, 2024 climaxes the three-day event as the main tournament. An 18-hole stroke play which ends with a Whisky Time, auction, and trophy presentation filled with entertainment.
