The Founder and Leader of the Life Assembly Worship Center and the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrews, also known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, has accused the flag bearer of yhe NDC John Dramani Mahama, of copying his 24-hour economy policy from GUM’s 2020 manifesto.

Rev. Andrews made this statement during the unveiling of his running mate and launch of the party’s 2024 manifesto on Saturday, August 17, 2024.

“Anyone who doubts it can cross-check our 2020 manifesto. We clearly stated that we would change the traditional working hours from 8-5 to shifts running from 6-12, 12-6, and so on. Mahama took that idea and simply rebranded it as a ‘24-hour economy policy,’” he claimed.

According to Rev. Andrews, while Mahama altered the name, the concept originated from GUM’s manifesto, where it was originally referred to as “a change in working hours.” He expressed confidence that he remains the best candidate to implement this vision, stating that he has well-structured plans to ensure the policy’s success.

Giving further details of his agenda, Rev. Andrews announced that, should he win the upcoming election, there will be no port duties for Ghanaians.

“Within six months of taking office, port duties will be entirely free for all Ghanaians. We will focus on developing free port services to boost imports and exports, driving economic growth and international trade,” he said.

He also highlighted his commitment to providing free healthcare, free electricity, and prioritizing food production and preservation under his administration.

“There will be employment for everyone—both the educated and uneducated. Jobs will not be limited to qualifications alone; we will also consider abilities, proven skills, and expertise in areas where specialization is needed,” he noted.

Rev. Andrews called on all Ghanaians to have faith in God and trust him to lead the country to a better future and navigate it out of the current economic crisis.
