Daniel Affum-Darkwah, who was running as an independent candidate for the Wassa East parliamentary seat, has announced his withdrawal from the December 7, 2024, election.

In his statement, Affum-Darkwah highlighted the challenging circumstances that led to this decision, noting a 50/50 chance of winning as a key factor.

Despite gaining recognition for his charitable initiatives, he acknowledged that many voters remained loyal to the traditional political parties, making the race increasingly difficult.

He expressed deep appreciation to his campaign team and extended apologies to his supporters, assuring them that he remains dedicated to serving the community. Affum-Darkwah also announced that the GHC 300,000+ originally allocated for the campaign by his club, TSC, would instead be used to provide interest-free loans and support various community development projects.

In a significant move, Affum-Darkwah endorsed Nana Kwame Bediako for President, emphasizing his enduring commitment to driving positive change in Ghana.

He pledged to continue his efforts to support and serve the community, expressing hope for future opportunities to represent them.
