The Director-General of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Kofi Osafo-Marfo, has reaffirmed the Scheme’s commitment to enhancing service delivery to its members.

Addressing the 2024 Employers Breakfast Meeting on Thursday, September 5, at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, in Accra, he emphasized the significance of engaging with stakeholders to discuss progress, new services, and collaborative efforts.

Mr. Osafo-Marfo expressed his gratitude to stakeholders for their unwavering commitment and support, highlighting the transformative impact of digitalization on SSNIT’s services.

The introduction of digital platforms has streamlined processes, making it easier for members to interact with the Scheme and addressing previous concerns about pension payment and contribution submission timelines.

Mr. Osafo-Marfo reported a remarkable turnaround in SSNIT’s financial performance, citing a surplus of Two Hundred and Thirty Million Ghana Cedis (Gh₵ 230,000,000) in 2022, a significant improvement from the deficit position in 2021.

He projected a surplus of Eight Hundred and Sixty-Four Million Ghana Cedis (Gh₵ 864,000,000) for 2023 and anticipated a strong performance in 2024, attributing the success to the team’s dedication and astute investment management. Mr. Osafo-Marfo assured employers and pensioners that SSNIT remains steadfast in its pursuit of excellence, committed to enhancing the Scheme’s sustainability and ensuring the well-being of its members.
