Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has said that the Former President John Dramani Mahama has seen his imminent defeat and is angered by every little thing.

Dr. Bawumia alleged that Mr. Mahama has resorted to insulting various figures, including pastors, chiefs, the Chief Imam, and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), accusing them of hypocrisy.

During a community engagement at Nsakina in the Greater Accra Region, Dr. Bawumia also claimed that Mr. Mahama is targeting the Electoral Commission and the NPP with his insults.

He questioned whether this was appropriate conduct for a former president, stressing that politicians should maintain a certain level of decency in their language.

Dr. Bawumia emphasized that the upcoming election is about ideas, not insults. He suggested that insults are used by those lacking solutions, while the NPP, according to him, has practical ideas to address national challenges.

He highlighted the achievements of the NPP, stating that they have constructed more roads, bridges, and interchanges, created more jobs, and built more factories, schools, hospitals, and sports facilities than Mr. Mahama’s administration.

He reiterated his challenge for a one-on-one debate with Mr. Mahama, asserting that Mr. Mahama is avoiding the debate because he knows he Dr Bawumia would present facts and data.
