The Vice Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman has pledged to promote responsible mining and ensure compliance by small scale miners in the next NDC administration.

According to her, the NDC would promote responsible mining by training small scale miners on how to mine without causing damage to the country’s water bodies and forest.

In her address to NDC supporters at Nkakaa in the Amenfi Central Constituency of the Western Region during her second phase three-day campaign tour, the Vice Presidential Candidate noted with concern that those who want to do proper mining responsibly must be trained since mining has come to stay.

She reaffirmed NDC’s commitment to creating more jobs for the youth with the 24 hour economy policy.

In addition, Naana Opoku Agyemang reiterated the introduction of Women’s development Bank and the big push to empower women financially and create jobs for Ghanaians.

She therefore urged the electorate to vote massively for John Dramani Mahama in the 7th December general elections to eradicate corruption, poverty, hunger and opportunity to reset the country.

Nana Kofi Mensah, Chief of Nkakaa endorsed John Mahama’s candidature and prayed for NDC’s victory. He asked that the next NDC government should remember him and his subjects and ensure developmental projects like the establishment of a teachers’ training college, hospitals, good road network and mobile telephony service in his town.
