Mahama cautions Ghanaians : Economic crisis knows no ethnic boundaries, vote wisely in 2024

The Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama has emphasized that the current economic challenges affect all ethnic groups in Ghana, urging the people of Nalerigu not to be swayed by the ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) lofty promises as the December 7 elections approach.

During a community engagement in Kulgona, within the Nalerigu-Gambaga constituency, as part of his two-day campaign tour of the North East Region, Mr. Mahama underscored the widespread impact of the economic crisis, stating that no ethnic group has been spared.

He pointed out that the NPP came to power with attractive promises such as the “one district, one factory,” “one village, one dam,” and “one million dollars per constituency per year” policies. These pledges, according to Mr. Mahama, led Ghanaians to give the NPP a chance in government. However, he argued that the opportunity has been misused, leaving Ghanaians in hardship. He stressed that the economic difficulties cut across all ethnicities, from Mamprusis to Ashantis, Ewes, Fantis, and Dagaatis, with everyone feeling the same level of suffering.

Mahama noted that no one, regardless of their ethnic background or political affiliation, is exempted from the rising cost of living. He urged voters to remember the consequences of elections and to make informed choices when they cast their votes on December 7, 2024.
