Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has accused the NPP Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of abandoning schools in the Upper west Region.

During his community engagement in the Upper West Region, he accused Dr. Bawumia of failing to deliver his promise of providing furniture to these schools.

According to him, over 1.3 million basic school children in the Upper West Region do not have furniture to sit on in their classroom, challenging Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to provide them with desks

Mahama reminded the public of how the Vice President in 2016 lashed out at him for failing to provide furniture for these students yet his government has turned a blind eye to them.

‘’He used to come and roam in Upper West and look for schools where there was no furniture and see children sitting on stones, and he will take pictures and say, I visited this school and they didn’t have furniture, and the NDC has failed to give them furniture’’, Mr. Mahama stated.
