The Ashanti Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Dr. Frank Amoakohene has chastised the NPP for deliberately spreading misinformation on voting.

According to him, the false information being spread by the NPP can lead NDC voters in the Ashanti Region to vote in a wrong way in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

In a viral video, a man believed to be a sympathizer of the NPP was seen on one of the party’s affiliated radio station advising NDC supporters to thumbprint the ballot paper eight times to vote for NDC.

NDC in response condemned the act and called on bodies like the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) to educate the public on how to vote in the right way because it is their responsibility.

” The institutions of the Republic of Ghana are supposed to be notified because the NCCE has a unique responsibility to ensure the right things are done in our body politics. They are all and out in Electoral times preaching for all the peace and all the issues. These are deliberate attempts to only misinform the public so we are expecting them to take action”.
