The Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Omane Boamah has commended Parliament for implementing enhanced security measures ahead of today’s sitting.

His remarks come in the context of the recent declaration of four parliamentary seats as vacant and the Supreme Court’s order of stay of execution regarding these decisions.

In a Facebook post on October 22, Dr. Boamah drew attention to the strategic approach of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the lead-up to the 2024 elections. He alleged that the NPP aims to compromise the Electoral Commission and other institutions while distorting the voters’ register to disenfranchise certain voters.
He emphasized that the NDC remains vigilant and committed to ensuring a fair electoral process.

Dr. Boamah outlined what he perceives as the NPP’s electoral strategy, which includes securing a declaration of results from a compromised Electoral Commission on December 7 and challenging the NDC to pursue legal action afterward. He noted that former President Mahama has stated he will not go to court following the elections, reflecting the NDC’s focus on electoral integrity.

Highlighting the NDC’s efforts, he noted that the party has successfully exposed errors within the Electoral Commission, compelling them to admit to deliberate mistakes that led to an unprecedented re-exhibition of the voters’ register at no cost to voters. He stressed the necessity for an inter party multi-stakeholder audit of the Electoral Commission’s IT systems to identify and address any issues that may undermine the electoral process.

NPP’s Failed Strategy for Elections 2024: Let the Show Begin!
———————————————————————-

The NPP strategy:

1. Compromise the Electoral Commission and other institutions,

2. Among others distort the voters register to disenfranchise some voters, but for our #EAGLEEYES,

3. Get the compromised Electoral Commission to declare the results at all costs on December 7, and

4. Ask NDC to go to court.

Meanwhile, President Mahama insists he’s not going to court after the December 7 elections.

Tofiakwa!!!

NDC is wide awake ⏰️!
————————————

1. We have exposed the Electoral Commission and forced them to admit their deliberate errors based on which the unprecedented re-exhibition of the voters register was effected at no cost to voters,

2. We insist the interparty multi-stakeholder audit of the IT system of the Electoral Commission must be done ✔️, and

3. This audit will seal the leaking roof and expose the criminals at the Electoral Commission who masterminded the disruption of the voters register in order to prevent recurrence.

Today, Parliament has a singular responsibility to show how the NDC will react when the courts descend…

I commend Parliament for putting appropriate security measures in place.

Let the ‘show’ begin!
