The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has sued a woman for dumping refuse into a gutter at Adum market in Kumasi of the Ashanti Region.

The woman was seen in a viral video throwing refuse into a gutter on a rainy day.

KMA responded to the viral video after their attention was drawn.

The public relations officer for KMA, Henrietta Afia Konadu Abogye has revealed that the actions of the woman is contrary to section 56(a)(b) of the public health Act 2012, Act 85.

According to her, KMA conducted investigations into the viral video after their attention was drawn and they realized that the incident happened at Adum market in Kumasi.

“We have summoned the woman and she is expected to appear before court on October, 29, 2024 for the law to take it course, she said.

She commended the public for drawing their attention to the incident.
