The Minister of Communication and Digitilisation, Ursula Owusu Ekuful has stated that government under the auspices of her ministry is implementing stringent data protection protocols aligned with international standards to safeguard user information.

Speaking at the official launch of 5G internet service today, November 1 2024, at the La Palm Royal Beach hotel in Accra, the Minister noted that the government intends to protect the data of users and their privacy to avoid breach of data.

She added that the Government has rolled out measures in collaboration with other agencies in implementing security measures which will enable them to continue monitoring the network security system.

Whiles internet users are enjoying the high speed internet 5G connectivity, they can also feel secure as the government aims to build a trusted digital environment.

Notwithstanding, the government seeks to subsidize the cost of 5G internet services in remote areas so that everyone can benefit.
