The Ashanti Regional Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abass Nurudeen claims that Alan Kyerematen, the presidential candidate of the Movement for Change, is gaining more numbers in the Ashanti Region than the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to Nurudeen, Alan’s recent walk in the region drew massive crowds, indicating that the people of Ashanti are shifting their support away from the NPP, which has traditionally considered the region as its stronghold.

Nurudeen also pointed out that Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the NPP’s vice presidential candidate, struggled to attract supporters during his recent campaign tour in the Ashanti Region, suggesting widespread disillusionment with the NPP government. He believes the NPP has collapsed spiritually and it will be evident on December 7, shocking even President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia.

He questioned that if former President John Agyekum Kufuor who achieved remarkable success during his presidency couldn’t break the 8 by securing a third term, what chances does the current Nana-Addo-Bawumia government have?, he rhetorically asked.
