Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare, Presidential Advisor on Health, has announced a significant donation to support healthcare improvements at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

On behalf of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr. Nsiah-Asare presented a contribution of GHC 200,000 to the “Heal Komfo Anokye Project.” Additionally, as a former CEO of KATH, he personally donated GHC 50,000, bringing the total contribution to GHC 250,000.

The “Heal Komfo Anokye Project” focuses on upgrading critical facilities and enhancing medical equipment at KATH, a key healthcare provider in the Ashanti Region and beyond. With its high patient demand and vital role in the healthcare system, the hospital requires continuous support to improve its services.

During the presentation, Dr. Nsiah-Asare underscored the Vice President’s steadfast commitment to advancing healthcare development in Ghana.

“Dr. Bawumia’s support for the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital reflects his dedication to seeing sustainable improvements in healthcare across the country,” he said.

Dr. Anthony Nsiah-Asare emphasized that the donation aligns with the government’s mission to strengthen healthcare infrastructure nationwide. It comes at a crucial time, as the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) faces challenges in expanding services due to limited resources and increasing patient demand.

He also highlighted the importance of partnerships between the private and public sectors for sustainable healthcare development. He called on Ghanaians, businesses, and philanthropic organizations to contribute to similar initiatives, particularly in underserved regions.

Dr. Nsiah-Asare further stated that if Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is elected President in the December 7th general election, the next NPP government will ensure the continuation of the “Heal Komfo Anokye Project.”

The hospital’s Chief Executive, Prof. Otchere Addai Mensah, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the Vice President’s support. He noted that the funds would enhance the hospital’s ability to provide critical medical services, reduce patient wait times, and upgrade essential facilities.

The Vice President’s contribution will enable KATH advance key projects that promise lasting improvements for patients and surrounding communities. This act of generosity not only provides immediate financial support but also reaffirms the government’s commitment to addressing healthcare challenges across the nation.
