Israeli Ambassador to Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone, H.E Roey Gilad has debunked rumors that, Israel has held some people from Gaza and Hamas hostage.
According to him, they do not have any hostages but prisoners who have been prosecuted.
We don’t have hostages from their side, we have prisoners who have been through the judicial system and have been charged to be in jail’’.
He said most of their prisoners have gone through the judicial system unlike their citizens who have been held hostage.
Speaking with Bismark Brown on Epa Ho Daben Ambassador Gilad called for the immediate release of Israeli citizens and military who have been held hostage by hamas.
‘’Hamas actually kidnapped not only two hundred and fifty-one Israelis but has also hijacked 2 Million citizens, and Hamas is also holding them as human shield’’.
He reiterated the country’s commitment to ending the war, if their hostages are released, whether dead or alive.
‘’We have to get all of them back, dead or alive .Some of the hostages are soldiers and citizens, citizens should be released immediately’’, he added.
