Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has criticized the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP), for always failing to take responsibility for their actions.

During his campaign tour of the Eastern Region specifically Nsawam today November 18, he said, “One of the first principles in leadership is taking responsibility. The negative thing about this Akufo-Addo, Bawumia government is that they never accept responsibility. If anything is going wrong it is somebody’s fault”.

According to him, throughout the NPP’s term in office, they have always blamed others for the country’s problems and never accepted responsibility for anything.

“When I was in office they always blamed me for things that didn’t go well. After they won in 2020 they were still blaming me and after people complained they shifted the blame on Covid-19, then came the Russia and Ukraine war now they blame everything on that” he added.

He stated that any government that cannot take responsibility cannot solve the country’s problems.

“You must be able to say that you were elected to fix these challenges and you accept responsibility for messing them up. When I was in office and the ‘dumsor’ started, it was a generational problem and financial problem but I didn’t go and blame the late presidents, Mills and Rawlings for it I went to parliament and assured them it was going to be solved which I did before leaving office” he explained.

Mahama noted that, he will continue to take responsibility for his actions and urged the people of Nsawam to vote for him to make Ghana better again.
