The suspected armed robbers who were trapped in Rahama forex Bureau at Lapaz have escaped, despite police presence at the scene.

According to reports, after the armed robbers stormed the forex Bureau, some guys around the area took a great move and locked the doors to the bureau, trapping the robbers and workers inside.

The police were notified and they also responded quickly by surrounding the area in an attempt to cause the robbers to surrender and rescue the workers who were held
hostage.

After the police managed to enter the building, the robbers were nowhere to be found.

They only met three female staff.

According to the workers, the robbers pointed guns at them demanding money but upon sensing the presence of the police, the robbers disappeared.

The police have taken the three girls into custody to assist with investigation.

Reports also indicate that, the motorbike believed to have been used by the robbers was spotted in front of the bureau.

An unidentified individual approached the police claiming the motorbike belonged to him. The said individual has also been arrested for further probe.
