The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) will convene on Wednesday, November 27, to evaluate the technical report submitted by Black Stars head coach Otto Addo regarding the team’s performance in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The meeting will focus on assessing the Black Stars’ overall performance and the contributions of the technical team under Addo’s leadership. This review follows the Executive Council’s decision during a meeting last Wednesday to engage the coach for a detailed discussion of his report and the team’s progress since his appointment earlier this year.

A statement from the GFA emphasized the significance of this meeting in shaping the future of Ghana’s national football team.

“The Executive Council will meet the Head Coach of the Black Stars, Mr. Otto Addo, on November 27, 2024, to discuss his technical report on the just-concluded AFCON qualifiers and the overall performance of the technical team since he assumed duty earlier this year,” the statement read.

The session will also address the Black Stars’ failure to qualify for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco, a setback that has sparked widespread debate about the team’s trajectory.

In addition to evaluating the technical report, the GFA is expected to outline plans to rebuild the team and improve future outcomes. The recent dissolution of the Black Stars Management Committee underscores the GFA’s determination to reevaluate and restructure the team’s leadership and operational framework for long-term success.

This meeting is seen as a critical step in determining the way forward for the Black Stars after a challenging qualifying campaign.
