The Electoral Commission commission has cautioned the public against misinformation and false information concerning their activities ahead of Saturday December 7 elections.

‘’ I want to advise all of us that we should fear disinformation and misinformation.”

Speaking during an engagement with the National Elections Security TaskForce and the Ghana Union of Traders’ Association (GUTA), Director of Training at the Office of the Electoral Commission, Dr. Serebour Quaicoe advised voters to be vigilant and not blind to misinformation about the EC.

According to him, the credibility of the elections does not solely depend on the EC but all stakeholders including voters, hence the need to be cautious of misinformation.

‘’Election credibility does not depend on only one institution all stakeholders come to play. When we talk of stakeholders in an election, we are talking about people or institutions or groups, whose actions and inactions affect elections.’’

He reiterated the EC’s efforts to ensuring transparent, fair and free elections in the December 7 polls.

’’The commission is going to ensure that, we do everything within our power to ensure free, credible and fair elections.
