Hubert Baidoo calls on EC to clarify criteria for accreditation process

Lead Economist for the New Force Movement, Hubert Baidoo has called on the Electoral Commission(EC) to provide clear criteria for the accreditation process.

Addressing the press on Thursday, December 5, Mr. Baidoo emphasized that a transparent and standardized approach would not only address the concerns of his movement but also foster cooperation between the EC and stakeholders.

According to him, while all five hundred and fifty-two agents of the movement qualify for accreditation cards, only 200 have been given, out leaving many members without the necessary documentation to perform their duties.

He revealed troubling instances of alleged extortion by EC officials in the Eastern Region, where members of the New Force Movement have reportedly been compelled to pay money before being issued accreditation cards.

Another major concern raised by the movement is the lack of standardization in the accreditation process. Hubert Baidoo noted that while some regions require passport photographs for issuing cards, others do not. This inconsistency, he pointed out, is especially perplexing as the cards issued by the EC do not display pictures or names, raising questions about the rationale behind the varying requirements.

The movement has called for immediate action to resolve these issues to ensure fairness and efficiency in the accreditation process moving forward.
