The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has issued a firm directive to its officials and representatives across all polling centers to ensure strict compliance with electoral procedures, particularly concerning the handling of validating stamps.

According to the Director of Elections and IT of the NDC, Dr. Omane Boamah, the validating stamps must remain wrapped until voting commences at the polling stations tomorrow, Saturday, December 7, 2024. This precaution is aimed at safeguarding the integrity of the election process and preventing any potential manipulation of the stamps.

Dr. Boamah in a Facebook post on Friday, December 6, shared a detailed checklist of items that Returning Officers, Deputies, and District Electoral Officers (DEOs) must place in the ballot boxes at the various polling centers. He emphasized that only authorized and legitimate materials should be included to uphold the credibility of the electoral process.

This warning comes in the wake of an incident he said said occurred in Offinso South, last night where the Electoral Commission reportedly attempted to use unwrapped validating stamps during preparations.

Insist Validating Stamps are Only Unwrapped Just Before Voting Begins Tomorrow
———————————————————————-

Kindly find the list of items (Checklist) the Returning Officers and Deputies (and DEOs) must put in the ballot boxes at the various centers in the Constituencies where legitimate filling of materials in ballot boxes will take place.

NB: Insist and ensure the Validating Stamp is wrapped (not naked). It must only be unwrapped at the polling stations before voting tomorrow, December 7, 2024.

Do not tolerate what the Electoral Commission tried to do in Offinso South last night by using unwrapped Validating stamps.

Thank you.

Dr. Omane Boamah

Director of Elections and IT, NDC.
