The Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Rashid Tanko-Computer has stated that the re-collation of parliamentary election results will remain on hold as the party awaits responses to its court injunction and a request for an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting from the Electoral Commission.

He said the Electoral Commission has been formally served with both the injunction and the request, and they have informed the party that a statement from the Commission is forthcoming. He said the party is waiting to review the content of the statement before deciding on its next steps.

Dr. Tanko Computer in an exclusive interview with Happy Kasiɛbɔ clarified that the halt in re-collation is due to the ongoing legal process, which seeks to address concerns about the electoral results. He also emphasized that the party is not attempting to claim parliamentary seats it has not legitimately won. Instead, he believes the overwhelming votes received by their presidential candidate, John Dramani Mahama, reflect the choice of the electorate.

He contends that this mandate extends to its parliamentary candidates, who were also chosen by the voters to represent them. He stressed that they are committed to ensuring that the will of the people is upheld, and that those elected are allowed to take their rightful places in Parliament and that the party remains resolute in defending its parliamentary majority as part of its dedication to upholding democratic principles.
