Majority Leader and Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has commended President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his remarkable contributions to Ghana’s education sector, stating that his achievements remain unmatched.

Reacting to the President’s final State of the Nation Address delivered in Parliament on Friday, January 3, Afenyo-Markin expressed confidence that history would remember Akufo-Addo’s leadership positively. He acknowledged the President’s political journey, highlighting how he inspired the youth through his advocacy since entering Parliament in 1997 and eventually rising to the presidency.

He said Akufo-Addo had fulfilled his constitutional duty by transparently presenting his performance over the past eight years.

Afenyo-Markin pointed to the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy and other educational reforms as key milestones, emphasizing the President’s transformative impact on educational access and describing his record in the sector as unparalleled.

He also praised the Agenda 111 initiative, calling it a bold policy designed to improve the country’s healthcare system and support vulnerable communities. According to him, the progress in education, healthcare, and national security has made a lasting impact on Ghana’s development.

He lauded the President for maintaining national stability and security, which he believes has made Ghana an attractive destination for West African investors. He said the nation should take pride in the President’s leadership, describing his tenure as a period where democracy thrived.
