Member of Parliament for the North Tongu Constituency, Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa, has clarified that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has no connection to Chinese developers who reportedly surveyed the Kantamanto lands after the January 2, 2025, fire.

Mr. Ablakwa refuted claims suggesting that the Sinostone Chinese investors he engaged in 2022 are the same individuals who visited the market’s burnt grounds a day after the incident.

In a post accompanied by photos, the MP explained that his 2022 negotiations with the management of Sinostone Bioethanol Manufacturing Limited—a Chinese ethanol production company, focused on securing jobs for stranded North Tongu NaBCo personnel. “Sinostone Bioethanol Manufacturing Limited, located in my beloved constituency, was where I made employment arrangements for stranded North Tongu NaBCo personnel following the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government’s termination of the programme on September 1, 2022.” he stated.

He emphasized that the NDC has no ties to the developers allegedly linked to the Kantamanto grounds. “For the record, the Sinostone Chinese investors in my constituency are not the Chinese nationals involved in the Kantamanto incident. They also have absolutely no connection with that matter,” he asserted.

Mr. Ablakwa condemned the persistent spread of misinformation, describing it as “glaikit and criminal conduct of NPP fake-newspreneurs,” and urged Ghanaians to disregard such fabrications.

Ignore and treat with utter contempt the glaikit and criminal conduct of NPP fake-newspreneurs.
