Special Aide to President John Dramani Mahama, Madam Joyce Bawah Mogtari, has emphasized the urgent need for job creation as a critical pillar in Ghana’s economic recovery efforts.

She highlighted the pressing issue of unemployment, which she described as a security threat, calling for immediate and strategic interventions to address the situation.

According to her, the current unemployment rate, officially at 14.7%, is likely underestimated as many young Ghanaians remain without jobs. She underscored that the economic challenges facing the country could not be resolved without prioritizing sustainable employment opportunities.

Madam Mogtari further stressed the importance of leadership understanding the struggles of the youth, pointing out that both the president and vice president have children within the same demographic affected by the job crisis. This connection, she noted, should inspire policies that focus on economic restoration with job creation at the core.

She reiterated that national development could only be fully achieved when young people are empowered with sustainable livelihoods, emphasizing that Ghana’s future stability and growth hinge on tackling unemployment.
