Put Ghana first, not campaign promises- Bismark Brown

Bismark Brown, host of Happy FM’s socio-political show, has urged President Mahama to prioritize Ghana’s well-being and development over campaign promises.

He emphasized the distinction between campaign promises and policies, noting that while campaign promises are easily communicated and appealing, they must be developed into policies before implementation.

BB cautioned that during policy formulation, if it becomes apparent that campaign promises may hinder the country’s development or have dire implications, the president must prioritize the nation’s interests. This statement suggests that President Mahama should be willing to re-evaluate and adjust his campaign promises if they are not in the best interest of the country.

President Mahama has made several campaign promises, including creating millions of jobs, improving the economy, and enhancing the country’s healthcare system. His manifesto promises include implementing a 24-hour economy policy, establishing a Women’s Development Bank, and introducing free primary healthcare.

While these promises may be appealing to citizens , BB’s statement serves as a reminder that the president must prioritize the country’s long-term development over short-term political gains.
