A Political Science Lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Professor Edward Brenya, has expressed confidence in the individuals appointed by President John Dramani Mahama as Minister-designates, citing their extensive past experiences.

Speaking to Maame Efua Kwaduah on Happy Kaseɛbɔ on Happy 98.9 FM, Professor Brenya highlighted that during President Mahama’s 2024 election campaign, he promised to reduce the number of ministers to sixty and streamline the ministries, reducing them from 30 to 23. This move, according to Professor Brenya, requires capable and experienced individuals to effectively manage the ministries.

He argued that the appointed individuals are highly experienced, particularly mentioning Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the Finance Minister Designate, John Jinapor as the Energy Minister Designate, and Dominic Akuritinga Ayine as the Attorney General and Minister for Justice Designate, all of whom have served in various ministerial roles before and possess the necessary expertise to deliver results.

Professor Brenya commended President Mahama for keeping his promise to incorporate youth into his administration. He noted that many of Mahama’s appointees are youthful, and he believes that involving the youth in governance is a step in the right direction.
