The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has expressed strong support for the government’s Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) initiative, which seeks to reclaim government properties unlawfully acquired by individuals or officials.

The ORAL Committee, established by President John Dramani Mahama and chaired by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, aims to recover assets that rightfully belong to the state.

Speaking on Happy98.9FM’s Epa Hoa Daben show with Bismark Brown, (BB), the National Communications Director for the CPP, Osei Kofi Acquah, praised President Mahama for the initiative and pledged the party’s full support.

Mr. Acquah condemned the unlawful acquisition of state properties by government officials, arguing that political power should not be used for personal enrichment. He emphasized that the CPP, as the founding party of Ghana, set a precedent of protecting state assets during its tenure.

He further highlighted that since Ghana’s independence in 1957, the country once boasted over 450 factories, including hotels, ships, radio and television stations, and a good transport system. However, many of these assets have reportedly been unlawfully acquired by individuals.

Mr. Acquah called on the ORAL Committee to conduct its investigations fearlessly, starting from 1957, to ensure all unlawfully acquired assets are reclaimed for the benefit of the nation.
