The Ministry of the Interior has renewed the curfew on Bawku and its surrounding areas in the Upper East Region.

According to a press release signed by the Ministry’s Chief Director, Mrs. Doreen P. Annan, the curfew takes effect from Monday, January 27, 2025, and will be enforced daily from 8:00pm to 5:00am.

The government has urged chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, and the youth in the area to remain calm and adopt peaceful, non-violent methods to resolve ongoing challenges.
The ban on the possession of arms, ammunition, and offensive weapons remains in effect in the affected communities.

Violators of this directive will face arrest and prosecution.
