Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, Vincent Ekow Assafuah has threatened legal action against the NDC following the revocation of all appointments made after December 7, 2024.

The dismissal which was announced by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah on Tuesday, February 2025, has raised controversy nationwide on the rather abrupt dismissal of individuals who were appointed after Ghana’s general elections in 2024.

Assafuah in an official statement released on Wednesday, February 12 noted that the move by the NDC government stands in complete contradiction of their ‘flagship policy – the 24-hour economy’ which will be implemented with the goal to create more job opportunities and enhance the way of life for many Ghanaian youth.

The NPP MP described the revocation as ‘unfortunate and unacceptable’ as it violates the laws pertaining to governance under the 1992 Constitution. “If this government is serious about job creation, it should be expanding opportunities not displacing workers. Sacking people and replacing them does nothing to reduce unemployment – it only deepens economic hardship.” he says.

Vincent Ekow Assafuah, has hereby called on all individuals affected by the revocation exercise to join the NPP as they take legal action against the NDC.
