Former Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame, is scheduled to speak today, Friday, February 14, 2025, in Accra.
This follows a recent decision by the current Attorney General, Dominic Ayine, to drop charges against Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson and several others who previously were facing trial during the immediate past NPP regime.
In a press engagement held earlier this week, Attorne General, Ayine defended his decision on ethical and professional grounds, stating that the charges were fundamentally flawed and lacked sufficient evidence.
High-profile cases such as Republic v. Cassiel Ato Forson & Another, Republic v. Ofosu Ampofo & Another, and others involving former officials, including Collins Dauda, were all discontinued.
Godfred Yeboah Dame, who had been actively involved in the Republic v. Cassiel Ato Forson & Another case and had opposed the court’s decision to acquit and discharge Dr. Forson, is expected to provide his perspective on the matter during his address.
