As part of its National Chocolate Day celebrations, the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) visited Kotoka International Airport on Friday, February 14, 2025 to welcome all arriving visitors with bars of Ghana-made chocolate.

Officials and staff of the authority offered the chocolate bars to many first-time visitors, who received them with delight.

The CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Mrs. Maame Efua Houadjeto who had the honor of presenting the first chocolate bar, emphasized that the gesture—coinciding with Valentine’s Day—symbolizes the warmth and love Ghana has to offer.

Beyond being an act of kindness, she highlighted that Ghana’s chocolate contains 40% cocoa, which supports good health and overall well-being.

The week-long National Chocolate Week celebrations, which concluded on Friday evening, featured a float from Osu to Accra High Street, an official cocoa celebration event at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, and the thoughtful distribution of free chocolate bars to all arriving visitors at Kotoka International Airport.

The 2025 National Chocolate Week, themed ‘Eat Chocolate, Stay Healthy, Grow Ghana’, aims to spotlight the value of Ghana’s processed cocoa products, particularly chocolate, through a variety of activities nationwide. This year, GTA, COCOBOD, and the Cocoa Processing Company are working collectively with government, tourism and hospitality stakeholders, and the public under the campaign ‘Chocolate for All: Taste, Share, and Care’ to elevate the patronage of Ghana’s chocolate in Ghana and beyond.
