President John Dramani Mahama has called on the newly sworn-in Council of State to carry out their duties with integrity, objectivity, and a strong dedication to national interest.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony, he highlighted the need for genuine deliberations and thoughtful guidance to support government decision-making.

“Your role is critical in shaping the country’s governance. I urge you to ensure that your deliberations are sincere, your advice is rooted in wisdom, and your service is focused on the welfare of the people,” he stated.

The 9th Council of State, newly inaugurated, is made up of distinguished professionals and seasoned public servants entrusted with offering independent advice to the President on national issues.

In response, Council Chairman and former Speaker of Parliament, Edward Doe Adjaho, reaffirmed the council’s commitment to fulfilling its mandate.

Under Ghana’s 1992 Constitution, the Council of State serves as an advisory body to the President, guiding governance decisions to uphold national interest, transparency, and good governance principles.
