The Ghana Football Association must be accountable to the Ghanaian people, president John Dramani Mahama has declared.

The president who was speaking about the sharp decline in the state of football and the sporting activities in general said accountability must be seen from the mangers of the game.

President Mahama promised transparency in sports spending also called for inclusiveness ahead of the Black Stars’ upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.

“There will be no secrecy in how much the government spends on the national teams; I have directed that the GFA be held accountable,” Mahama stated in his State of the Nation Address on Thursday, February 27, 2025.

President Mahama also assured Ghanaians that his government remains dedicated to revitalizing sports infrastructure.
