President John Dramani Mahama has urged the Black Stars to give their all and secure Ghana’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Mahama made these remarks during a visit to the team’s training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, March 19, 2024. His presence came at a crucial time as the squad gears up for their World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.

Once a dominant force in African football, the Black Stars have endured a challenging period, including their failure to qualify for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and early exits in recent tournaments.

Addressing the team, Mahama acknowledged these setbacks but expressed confidence in their ability to restore Ghana’s footballing pride. He emphasized that the team’s resurgence depends on a unified effort from players, technical staff, and management.

He also reminded the players of the unwavering support they receive from Ghanaians, urging them to reciprocate that passion with dedication and commitment on the pitch.

The Black Stars will take on Chad on March 21 at the Accra Sports Stadium before traveling to Morocco to face Madagascar on March 24. These fixtures are crucial in Ghana’s quest to secure a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and the team is determined to rise to the challenge.
