The Central Region is facing a sanitation crisis, prompting its Regional Minister, Eduamoah Ekow Panyin Okyere, to call on security agencies and institutions to work closely with the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) for a collective solution.

His concerns stem from the deteriorating hygiene conditions and a recent cholera outbreak, underscoring the need for urgent action to protect public health.

At a recent meeting, the Central Regional Police Commander, DCOP Charles Kofi Adu, emphasized the importance of addressing unresolved chieftaincy disputes, particularly during festive periods, threatening peace and stability in the region.

He suggested engaging the Regional House of Chiefs and accelerating case resolutions through the Judicial Council.

Meanwhile, the Central Regional Fire Service Commander, DCFO Malinda Mary Atsigah-Mensah, highlighted operational challenges faced by her department.

She therefore appealed for the Minister’s support to improve their efficiency and expressed appreciation for his visit, which provided an opportunity to voice their challenges and discuss solutions firsthand.

The Minister’s initiative reflects a commitment to addressing both immediate and systemic issues in the region, ranging from sanitation to peace and safety.
