The Tema Regional Police Command has apprehended two suspects in connection with the robbery of a businessman at Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region. The incident occurred on February 26, 2025.

One of the suspects, Karim Fatao, was arrested on the same day of the robbery. His alleged accomplice, Wonder Babanawo, who had been on the police’s wanted list for multiple robberies in Ashaiman and parts of Tema, was arrested on March 29, 2025.

A Facebook post by the Ghana Police Service on Sunday, March 30, 2025 stated that during a search on the suspects, the police retrieved several items, including a Ruger pistol loaded with fifteen rounds of ammunition, 30 mobile phone covers, six SIM cards, a quantity of dried plant material suspected to be Indian hemp, one Samsung tablet, and three copies of land indenture.

Karim Fatao was arraigned before the court on March 3, 2025, and has since been remanded into police custody. Meanwhile, Wonder Babanawo remains in custody and is set to be presented before court to face prosecution.

The police have reaffirmed their commitment to combating crime and ensuring public safety. They have urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement in the fight against criminal activities.
