The Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment, in partnership with entertainment.weekgh and Y107.9FM, is set to officially launch the impactful #RedMeansStop campaign on April 1st.

This initiative is dedicated to addressing the growing danger of opioid misuse among Ghanaian youth, particularly the abuse of “Red.”

The campaign will begin with an engaging radio roadshow with YFM at the Legon City Mall, providing a platform for stakeholders, community leaders, and activists to discuss the importance of combating substance abuse and protecting Ghana’s future generation.

The Minister of Youth development,George Opare Addo in a post on his official Facebook page on Monday March 31, 2025 announced that, following the radio roadshow with YFM, the campaign will continue with an activation in the Odododiodio Constituency, reinforcing its commitment to reaching communities and empowering grassroots participation.

The Ministry of Youth Development on March 26, 2025 launched the “Red Means Stop” campaign.

The campaign aims at raising awareness about the dangers of substance abuse, particularly the increasing use of opioids among young people.
