The Korle-Bu Senior Staff Association (KOSSA) has expressed concern about the selection of the next leadership team at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, urging the newly appointed Minister of Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, to involve all relevant stakeholders in the process.

In a congratulatory statement to the new minister, KOSSA emphasized its commitment to staff welfare and the hospital’s advancement.

The Association stressed that with the right leadership and the support of the Health Minister, the hospital could be restored to its former glory and provide top-quality healthcare to patients.

KOSSA highlighted the importance of inclusive dialogue, indicating their readiness to engage in discussions and collaborate with the Ministry when necessary.

They expressed confidence that the minister’s previous role as a ranking member on the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health has given him the expertise and insights needed to drive impactful reforms in Ghana’s healthcare system.

The Association also drew attention to the various challenges facing the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, the country’s largest tertiary and quaternary healthcare facility.

They stressed the need for a visionary and transformative leader who can reposition the hospital to deliver world-class services.
“KOSSA, as a key stakeholder advocating for the welfare of staff and the advancement of the hospital, takes a keen interest in the leadership of Korle Bu.

We firmly believe that under your stewardship, and with the right leadership at the hospital, we can restore Korle-Bu to its former glory and ensure it delivers the highest standard of care to our cherished clients,” part of the statement read.

KOSSA reaffirmed its support for the new minister and expressed optimism about the positive impact his leadership could have on the health sector.
