The Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has successfully cleared 31 days of arrears owed to caterers under the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) for the First Term of the 2024/2025 academic year.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, April 9, National Coordinator of the School Feeding Programme, Hajia Fati Forgor, extended gratitude to the government for the timely release of funds. She also acknowledged the unwavering support of donor partners, whose collaboration continues to sustain the initiative.

Beyond settling outstanding payments, the School Feeding Secretariat has initiated a restructuring process aimed at strengthening the programme’s efficiency.

Under the supervision of MoGCSP, reforms will focus on decentralizing operations, enhancing the quality of food served, and ensuring timely and consistent payments to caterers.

The Ghana School Feeding Programme plays a vital role in providing meals to children in public schools across the country, improving nutrition and boosting school enrollment rates.

The government has pledged it commitment to sustaining and improving the initiative to better serve beneficiaries.
