The Tema Development Company Limited (TDC) has revealed shocking irregularities in land acquisitions within Tema Community 24, with multiple plots allegedly sold to individuals connected to the Ofori-Atta family.

During a press conference held at TDC’s headquarters in Tema, Managing Director Courage Makafui Nunekpeku disclosed that preliminary findings indicate that the land transactions were executed during the tenure of former Managing Director Alice Abena Ofori-Atta.

Nunekpeku emphasized that the investigation is based on concrete evidence, dismissing any claims of speculation.

“Nothing will stop the investigations we’re going to do. The only thing that can stop it will be probably the sector minister or the President. Apart from that, nothing is going to stop it. We will continue to do the land audit to make sure that people account for their stewardship”.

He further questioned the concentration of land ownership within a single family.

“You cannot be the Managing Director that presides over the sale of land, properties to this level and think that you should not be called to account. Every ten plots in layer T of the categorized land, two or three plots belong to an Ofori-Atta. I mean, why, is that the only family we have in Ghana? These are facts, nobody can change it”.

Meanwhile, the Ofori-Atta family is yet to issue an official response to the allegations.
