President John Dramani Mahama, Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, has called on newly commissioned officers to uphold the values of responsibility, integrity, and professionalism as they embark on their military careers.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony of officer cadets at the Ghana Military Academy on April 11 2025, President Mahama reminded the officers of the high expectations placed upon them and urged them to lead with courage and service.

“Graduating cadet, today marks the beginning of a new chapter in your life. You are no longer officer cadets; you shall soon be officers of the Ghana Armed Forces. The nation looks up to you with expectations, hope, and confidence. You are part of the future of the Ghana Armed Forces, and your actions will shape the destiny of our nation”.

The President emphasized that leadership is not about rank or privilege but about responsibility and service, encouraging the officers to inspire loyalty and uphold the highest standards of professionalism.

“I urge you to lead with integrity, courage, and compassion. I encourage you to be officers who inspire loyalty. I expect you to be leaders who earn respect and uphold the highest standard of professionalism”.

The commissioning parade was attended by high-ranking military officials, government representatives, diplomats, and families of the graduates.

The event featured military drills and traditions, marking the cadets’ successful completion of their training.

President Mahama reiterated the critical role of the Ghana Armed Forces in maintaining peace and stability, stressing that those who lead within the institution must display exemplary conduct and a deep sense of national duty.
