Kurt Okraku, president of Ghana’s football association (GFA), has stepped down as President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B.

This move comes after he was recently chosen as the 2nd Vice-President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

It seems like juggling both his new big job at CAF and his ongoing role at the GFA would be a lot, so Mr. Okraku made a choice to hand over the WAFU responsibilities. This way, he can give his full attention to each important position.

During his time leading WAFU Zone B, Mr. Okraku did some great things, like starting junior tournaments for the countries in the zone.

Looking back at his work with WAFU, Mr. Okraku in a Facebook post said he was thankful for the support and hard work of the WAFU team.

He also made it clear that even though he’s moving on to a bigger role at CAF, he’s still dedicated to helping football grow in West Africa.

His decision now opens the door for someone new to lead WAFU Zone B forward, building on the foundation and connections that Mr. Okraku helped to create.
