The legal proceedings involving former National Signals Bureau head, Kwabena Adu-Boahene, is set to take a critical turn today, as an in-camera consequential trial meeting, sanctioned by His Lordship John Eugene Nyadu Nyante, takes place at the General Jurisdiction Division of the Accra High Court.

Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine and lead defense lawyer Ataa Akyea will join the trial judge for the private session, where crucial evidence is expected to be disclosed.

A consequential trial meeting typically addresses matters arising after a judgment has been rendered, focusing on issues such as enforcement, appeals, and other legal implications stemming from the case’s outcome.

Dr. Ayine had previously petitioned the court to revoke Adu-Boahene’s bail, citing intelligence reports that allege attempts to interfere with prosecution witnesses.

The Attorney General is expected to provide further disclosures today, potentially influencing the judge’s final decision on whether Adu-Boahene should be remanded into custody.

Adu-Boahene, his wife, an additional suspect, and their company face eleven charges, including stealing, money laundering, conspiracy to commit financial crimes, and misuse of public office.

The accused pleaded not guilty to all eleven charges.
