An Accra High Court has ordered the detention of Kwabena Adu-Boahene, former head of the National Signals Bureau, for seven working days after ruling that his bail conditions remain unmet.

The decision was made to allow the Attorney General, Dr. Dominic Ayine, to finalize witness statements in the ongoing criminal proceedings.

Adu-Boahene is at the center of a GH¢49.1 million cybersecurity fraud case, in which he, his wife, and two others face 11 charges, including stealing, money laundering, and abuse of public office.

Prosecutors allege that the deal, involving Israeli firm ISC Holdings Limited, was fraudulent, a claim the accused parties deny.

The Attorney General had previously sought to revoke Adu-Boahene’s bail, citing concerns over witness interference.

While the court did not immediately rescind his bail, it ruled that he must remain in custody until the necessary documentation is completed.
