The Chief Fire Officer (CFO) of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong, has commended the Church of Pentecost for its continued commitment to the growth and welfare of the Service.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony of the newly built Pentecost Fire Station at Yesukrom in the Gomoa East Constituency of the Central Region on Wednesday, May 25, CFO Sarpong described the project as a landmark gesture, noting that it is the first time a religious organization has handed over a fully furnished fire station to the GNFS.

She said the facility represents more than just a donation, it is a significant investment that will greatly enhance the Service’s capacity to respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies.

She stressed that the location of the new station will help close the gap between fire officers and residents, improving community safety and emergency response in the area.

CFO Sarpong further stated that the Church’s initiative underscores the fact that national development is not the sole responsibility of government, but a shared duty that involves private institutions, faith-based organizations, and citizens alike. She emphasized that GNFS cannot operate in isolation and therefore requires the collective support of all Ghanaians to carry out its mandate effectively.

Expressing her heartfelt gratitude to the leadership of the Church of Pentecost, she encouraged fire personnel to maintain and utilize the facility responsibly for the greater benefit of the community.
